Verdicts are informational, not official

BatChecker compiles bat certification data from official published sources, including the USA Baseball approved bat list, USSSA approved and withdrawn lists, the WSU Sports Science Lab BBCOR list, and USA Softball certified and non-approved lists. Our verdicts reflect those sources as of the last reviewed date shown on each page. They are not official rulings, and they do not replace the published rules of any sanctioning body.

Rules change, sometimes quickly

Bats are decertified and added to banned lists during the season. Leagues update age division rules year to year. While we update on a defined schedule and prioritize decertification news, there can be a gap between an official change and our update. The official lists always take precedence over our verdicts.

Local rules can be stricter

Local leagues, tournaments, and umpires may enforce equipment rules that are stricter than the national standard. A bat that is legal under a national sanctioning body's rules may still be disallowed by your local league or a specific tournament. Always confirm before you buy and before you play.

No affiliation

BatChecker is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by USA Baseball, USSSA, Little League, Babe Ruth League, PONY Baseball and Softball, NFHS, NCAA, USA Softball, NSA, ISA, or any bat manufacturer or retailer. All league names, certification marks, and brand names are used for factual identification only.

Affiliate links

Some pages may include affiliate links to bat retailers. If you buy through those links, BatChecker may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence a legality verdict; the verdicts come from the official lists, full stop.
